Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. bkmk uses your existing iCloud account. As long as you’re signed into iCloud on your Apple device, bkmk works.
Where are my bookmarks stored?
In the private CloudKit database of your own iCloud account. The author of bkmk has no access to them.
Does it sync to Windows or Android?
Not in v1. The Chrome extension works on any OS but stores locally only. Apple-to-Apple sync is the v1 promise.
Does it cost anything?
Free up to 100 bookmarks. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited bookmarks and additional features. No subscription.
What does it cost in iCloud storage?
URL bookmarks are tiny (~few KB each). Image bookmarks count against your iCloud quota at their full size; preview thumbnails are small.
Does bkmk send anything to a server?
No. The only network traffic is to Apple’s iCloud (for sync) and to the URLs you ask it to preview (fetched directly from your device).
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Your bookmarks remain in your iCloud account. Reinstalling restores them.
How do I delete all my data?
Delete the app on all your devices and then remove the bkmk CloudKit container data from Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.
